Thilakkam - A ray of hope for visually challenged

Joyalukkas Foundation conducted 'Snehasauhridam' and provided 65 smart phones to the needy.

The function was held on Monday July 15th, at the main hall of Kerala Sahithya Academy, Thrissur and was presided over by Joyalukkas Group Director Mrs Jolly Joy Alukkas. Kerala Vikalanga Kshema Corporation Chairman Mr. Parasuvaikkal Mohanan inaugurated the function. Joyalukkas Foundation Chief Coordinator Mr P P Jose welcomed the dignitaries. Joyalukkas Group Director Mrs. Sonia Alukkas distributed the smart phones. Renowned music director Mr. Alphonse Joseph delivered the felicitation speech. The function ended with folk song presentation by noted artist Mr.Manikandan and team.

'Thilakkam' project, an initiative of Joyalukkas Foundation is actively engaged in lot of humanitarian activities across India. Around 300 smartphones have already been distributed to visually challenged people since the last three years at Kottayam, Thrissur and Ernakulam. This project is steered by Mr. Gireesh Keerthi, member of Vikalanga Kshema Director Board and is supported by the Welfare Federation for the differently-abled.
