Project " VISION " in Viyyur Central Jail.

Extending the project " Vision " to the central Jail, Joyalukkas foundation and Ahalya Foundation together conducted a free Eye Check Up camp with the support of Jail authorities. More than 400 inmates attended the camp for eye problems .150 persons were recommended for spectacles.On Monday 5th April 2019, we conducted a function in the jail Library for distributing the spectacles.

The function was presided over by Mr. Nirmalandan Nair, Supdt. Central Prison and Correctional Home, Viyyur. He was all praise for Joyalukkas Foundation and Ahalya Hospital for repeatedly organizing Eye camps for the benefit of Jail inmates. Mr. O J.Thomas,Welfare Officer welcomed the audience. Sri. Baby George, CEO, Joyalukkas Group inaugurated the Spects distribution. Sri. P P Jose, Chief Coordinator, Joyalukkas Foundation described the various charity activities being carried out by the Foundation across South India Mr. Anil Kumar K , Jt. Supdt and Dr. C L Antony delivered felicitations. Mrs. Saji Simon ,Welfare Officer expressed thanks on behalf of the prison inmates. After distribution , the guests sat for a photo session with the jail authorities and inmates

Later,the guests went around the compound and watched different production units like Chappathi Making,Weaving unit ,Flour Mills operated by the inmates.Some of the inmates requested us to provide financial support to digitalise the existing library and Foundation Coordinator has committed to look into the matter.
