Bethlehem Abhayabhavan- a haven for disowned and discarded

Bethlehem Abhayabhavan is a large family having more than 500 members, all with mental disorders. Mrs Mary Esthapan is the loving mother and head of this uncommon family situated at Koovapady near Perumbavoor..They all require food,dress and medical care without fail and this caring mother is trying hard to make both ends meet..These inmates had only temporary sheds to live which was not safe and secure and hence the head of the family Mary Chechi approached JA Foundation for help. Over and above the monthly financial help we decided to construct a pucca building for accommodating the women inmates.

Yesterday ( 18.02.2020 ) was a significant day in the history of Bethleham Abhayabhavan, as the construction of the new building was reaching an important stage ie fixing the door frame . The function was attended by Mrs Jolly Joy, Director Joyalukkas Group,Block Panchayath Standing Committee Chairman ,Mrs. Jancy, George other local VIPs and Foundation volunteers. Mrs Mary Esthapan explained that the construction work is fast progressing and expects completion by early April 2020.The door fixing ceremony was performed by Mrs Jolly Joy.followed by a meeting presided by Mr Babu Joseph, secretary ,Dist. Kerala Congress Committee.Mrs. Jolly,Sri P P. Jose,Mrs. Mary Esthappan etc spoke on the occasion.
