World Cancer Day

In observance of World Cancer Day, the Joyalukkas Foundation has officially launched a massive ₹2 crore medical support initiative aimed at assisting cancer patients in need. The program will distribute essential medicines worth ₹20,000 each to approximately 1,000 cancer patients statewide.

Dr. Niji Justin, the Mayor of Thrissur Corporation, officially inaugurated the noble initiative. The chief guest of this event was well-known film actress Mamta Mohandas. Speaking at the event, Joy Alukkas, Chairman of the Joy Alukkas Group, emphasized that this project will bring immense relief to underprivileged patients battling this disease. Furthermore, he also announced that the Joyalukkas Foundation will set up a state-of-the-art hospital facility in Thrissur dedicated exclusively to pediatric cancer treatment. 

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several prominent dignitaries, including Oncologist Dr. Chithrathara K, Joyalukkas Group Director Jolly Joy Alukkas, Fr. Julius Arakkal CMI, Dr. Benny Joseph,  and Joy Alukkas’s sister, Reena Joby. 

This initiative is a continuation of the Joyalukkas Foundation’s extensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts. It was established in 2009 with a vision of bringing the marginalized section into the mainstream. The foundation has completed numerous voluntary service projects across the country. It is providing direct medical assistance, including financial support for dialysis and free pacemakers for heart patients. The foundation has also built over 500 "Joy Homes" across Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. Moreover, the foundation is supporting the education of numerous children nationwide through its “Joy of Hope” scholarships.
