The Joyalukkas Foundation organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Programme on 31st October 2015 at Government Model Girls High School, Thrissur, benefiting teachers, parents, and senior students. The interactive session was led by Sr. Dr. Catherine, Assistant Professor at Amala Medical College, who provided valuable insights on early detection, prevention, and treatment of breast cancer. Participants actively engaged in the discussion, clarifying their concerns and expressing appreciation for the Foundation’s efforts in promoting health awareness.
The programme commenced with a formal inaugural function chaired by PTA President Dr. Prakash Babu and was officially inaugurated by Smt. Subhavathy, Circle Inspector of East Police Station, Thrissur. The School Principal, Sri V.C. Muraleedharan, welcomed the gathering. Addresses were delivered by Sri P.P. Jose, Chief Coordinator of the Joyalukkas Foundation, and Sri Sumesh, Mall Manager of Mall of Joy, highlighting the importance of community health initiatives. Mrs. Dhanya Joseph, NSS Programme Officer, proposed the vote of thanks.
As part of its commitment to community welfare, the Foundation also donated a water purifier to the school, presented by Mr. Joseph Christo, DGM–HR, addressing the institution’s need for safe drinking water facilities. This initiative reflects the Foundation’s continued dedication to health awareness, preventive care, and grassroots-level social support.
